PEMANFAATAN FITOPLANKTON LAUT CHAETOCEROS CALCITRANS SEBAGAI BIOINDIKATOR DAN BIOAKUMULATOR CD2+ DI PERAIRAN.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji kelayakan fitoplankton laut Chaetoceros calcitrans sebagai bioindikator perairan dan bioakumulator ion Cd 2+ di perairan. Berdasarkan Hasil
penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh toksik yang signifikan terhadap pola pertumbuhan fitoplankton dalam medium kultur C. calcitrans apabila terdapat ion Cd 2+ 0,1 ppm. Hal ini berarti bahwa fitoplankton C. calcitrans dapat dipertimbangkan sebagai bioindikator dan bioakumulator ion Cd
2+ yang baik.

This study aimed to test the feasibility of marine phytoplankton Chaetoceros calcitrans as both of bioindicators and bioaccumulator cadmium ion in water. Based on the results of
this study concluded that there is no significant toxic effect on the pattern of growth of phytoplankton in the culture medium of C. calcitrans in the concentration 0.1 ppm of Cd2+. This means that phytoplankton C. calcitrans can be considered as good
bioindicators and bioaccumulator cadmium ion.
