Pengaruh Penggunaan Media Tanam Terhadap Laju Pertumbuhan Bibit Jabon Merah (Anthocephalus macrophyllus)

Efforts to provide quality seeds need support in the form of planting media that is no doubt to support the growth of Jabon seeds. This research was conducted to determine the effect of the growth of Jabon (Anthocephalus macropyllus) seedlings on various combinations of planting media. The design of the experiment was completely randomized design (Rancangan Acak Lengkap/RAL) with 4 (four) treatments and repeated 3 (three) times. The media treatments tested were treatment P0 (control), P1 (topsoil + cocopeat = 1:1), P2 (topsoil + husk charcoal = 1:1), P3 (topsoil + cocopeat + husk charcoal = 2:1:1). The results showed that the treatment of P0 (control) gave the highest growth yield of diameter were 5.73 mm, 13.33 cm for plant height, and 148.50 mm for leaf area on jabon seeds. Meanwhile, the P1 treatment resulted in growth with an average number of forming leaves were 3.67 sheets. Analysis of variance in the treatment of planting media had no significant effect on the growth of red jabon (Antocephalus macrophyllus) seedlings both in terms of diameter, height, number of leaves, and leaf area. There was a condition indicating that the planting medium used did suitable for growing Jabon seeds.
