Pengaruh Lapisan Lidah Buaya (Aloe vera L.) dengan Penambahan CMC (Carboxy Methyl Cellulose) Yang Berbeda Terhadap Daya Simpan Buah Tomat (Lycopersicon esculentum) di Suhu Refrigerator

Tomato is one of horticultural commodities that is perishable or easily damaged, the way to inhibit the deterioration of quality and damage to tomato fruit that has been harvested is the treatment of coating using aloe vera with the addition of CMC (Carboxy Methyl Cellulose). In this study aims to determine the concentration of aloe vera gel added Carboxyl methyl cellulose (CMC) which can extend the shelf life of tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum L.). and Know the quality of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) after being given edible coating treatment. The research method of this research is Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment of this study was A1 = Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC) 0,5%, A2 = Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC) 1.5%. The results showed that the application of aloe vera based edible coating and storage at cold temperatures better in maintaining the physical quality of Tomato fruit. Edible coating treatment had significant effect on fruit hardness parameter, color measurement, L* brightness, vitamin C.
