This paper explores the historical and contemporary significance of Islamic architectural elements in shaping the spatial organization of urban environments. Islamic cities and towns have historically incorporated Islamic architectural principles, reflecting cultural values and climatic considerations. The research question driving this study is: How has Islamic architecture influenced the spatial organization of urban environments, and what are its implications for contemporary urban planning? The research objective is to investigate the enduring impact of Islamic architectural elements on urban spatial organization, with a focus on principles such as privacy, humility, and hospitality. Qualitative methods, including literature review and analysis of historical and modern case studies, are employed to examine this influence. Findings reveal that Islamic architectural elements continue to shape urban landscapes, guiding the design of homes and public spaces in accordance with cultural values. The evolution of spatial organization in Islamic schools' architecture reflects changing societal contexts. Integration of traditional and modern elements in cities like Baghdad is essential for maintaining urban identity. Contemporary urban planning in regions influenced by Islamic architecture draws inspiration from historical models, incorporating sustainable principles. In conclusion, Islamic architecture's impact on urban spatial organization persists, providing valuable insights for contemporary urban planning that respects heritage while addressing contemporary challenges. This research underscores the enduring relevance and adaptability of Islamic architectural principles in shaping urban environments.
