KOMPETENSI GURU IPA SMP PULAU BACAN KABUPATEN HALMAHERA SELATAN

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan memetakan kompetensi pedagogik dan profesional guru IPA SMP di Bacan Kabupaten Halmahera Selatan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan ex-postfacto. Penelitian ini akan dilaksanakan di SMP negeri maupun swasta di bawah binaan Depertemen Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kabupaten Halmahera Selatan, dengan subyek penelitiannya adalah guru IPA SMP. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dengan menggunakan test. Test diberikan kepada guru IPA untuk menguji kompetensi guru, baik kompetensi profesional, maupun kompetensi pedagogic. Intrumen test untuk kompetensi profesional adalah dengan menggunakan soal-soal test yang telah baku (soal-soal tes UKA), sedangkan untuk soal-soal tes kompetensi pedagogik disusun sendiri oleh peneliti dengan berdasarkan indikator: (a) Menguasai karakteristik peserta didik; (b) Menguasai teori belajar dan prinsip-prinsip pembelajaran IPA; (c) Mengembangkan kurikulum IPA; (d) Menyelenggarakan pembelajaran IPA yang mendidik; (e) Pemanfaatan teknologi sebagai media pembelajaran IPA; (f) Memfasilitasi pengembangan potensi peserta didik; (g) Mampu berkomunikasi secara efektif, empatik dan santun dengan peserta didik; dan (h) Pemanfaatan hasil penilaian untuk perbaikan pembelajaran IPA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (a) Kompetensi profesional guru IPA SMP di Bacan rata-rata berada pada kategori sedang sebanyak  57,70 %,  kategori baik sebanyak 26,92 %, dan kategori rendah sebanyak 15,38 %; (b) Kompetensi pedagogik guru IPA SMP di Bacan  rata-rata berada pada kategori rendah yaitu sebanyak 65,38 % (17 guru), kategori baik 3,85 % (1 guru) dan kategori sedang  30,77% (8 guru).

ABSTRACT. This research aims to knowledge and map the pedagogical competence and professional science teacher (IPA) at the junior high school at Bacan South Halmahera District. The method is  used in this research with a qualitative approach ex-post facto. This research will be conducted in public and private junior high school (SMP) under the guidance of Department of Education and Culture of South Halmahera District, with the subjects of the research is the junior high science (IPA SMP) teacher. The data in this study were obtained using a test. Test given to science teachers to test the competence of teachers, both professional competence, as well as pedagogic competence. Test instrument for professional competence is used test questions that have been standard test (test questions UKA), while for the test questions pedagogical competence alone arranged by researcher with the basis of indicators: (a) Mastering the characteristics of learners; (B) Mastering of  educational theories and principles of science teaching; (C) Develop curriculum IPA; (D) Conducting educational science teaching; (E) The utilization technology as a medium of learning science; (F) To facilitate the development potential of learners; (G) Ability to communicate effectively, empathetic and polite with learners; and (h) Utilization of the assessment results to improve science teaching. The research result showed that (a) Professional competence junior high science teacher in Bacan average middle category as much as 57.70%, both categories as much as 26.92%, and the low category as much as 15.38%; (B) pedagogic competence junior high science teacher in Bacan average are in the low category is as much as 65.38% (17 teachers), the category of either 3.85% (1 teacher) and the category was 30.77% (8 teachers).
