PENGGUNAAN PROJECT BASED LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEPEDULIAN LINGKUNGAN

ABSTRAK. Pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi menuntut untuk mengembangkan kemampuan akademik mahasiswa (hard skill) dan kemampuan personal (soft skill). Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat mendorong mahasiswa untuk mengembangkan kecakapan hidup terutama pada matakuliah fisika lingkungan adalah model pembelajaran berbasis proyek (project based learning). Pembelajaran berbasis proyek ini lebih memusatkan pada masalah kehidupan yang bermakna bagi mahasiswa, dimana peran dosen hanya menyajikan masalah, mengajukan pertanyaan dan memfasilitasi mahasiswa dalam merancang sebuah proyek yang mereka lakukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah pertama, untuk meningkatkan sikap kepedulian lingkungan dan kemampuan kognitif mahasiswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Kedua, untuk memetakan sikap kepedulian lingkungan mahasiswa setelah mempelajari materi-materi fisika lingkungan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan  masing-masing variabel sebelum pembelajaran dan sesudah pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran project based learning. Peningkatan sikap kepedulian lingkungan mahasiswa setelah pembelajaran dengan model project based learning berada pada kategori sangat yaitu sebesar 80,4%. Prestasi belajar setelah pembelajaran dengan model project based learning mengalami peningkatan yang secara rata-rata berada pada kategori tinggi sebesar 62,6 %.

ABSTRACT. Learning in college demands to develop students' academic skills (hard skills) and personal skills (soft skills). One of the learning models that can encourage students to develop life skills, especially in the environmental physics course is a project based learning model. This project-based learning focuses on meaningful life issues for students, where lecturer roles only present problems, ask questions and facilitate students in designing a project they undertake. The purpose of this research is first, to improve the attitude of environmental awareness and cognitive ability of students by using project-based learning model. The purpose of this research is first, to improve the attitude of environmental awareness and cognitive ability of students by using project-based learning model. Second, to map the attitude of students' environmental awareness after studying the materials of environmental physics by using the model of project-based learning. The results showed that there is an increase of each variable before learning and after learning using project based learning model. Increased attitude of students' environmental awareness after learning with project based learning model is in the very category that is equal to 80.4%. Learning achievement after learning with project based learning model experienced an increase which on average was in the highest category of 62.6%
