Partisipasi dan Persepsi Masyarakat Terhadap Pelestarian Hutan Manggrove Di Desa Sayoang Kecamatan Bacan Timur Kabupaten Halmahera Selatan

Abstrak

This study was conducted in Sayoang Village, East Bacan District, South Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province, to analyze community perceptions and participation in mangrove forest conservation and identify factors influencing both aspects. The research was conducted over one month, covering preparation, data collection, processing, analysis, and report writing. The study involved 41 respondents from the Sayoang village community. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis through data checking, scoring, tabulation using Microsoft Excel, calculation of mean scores and percentages for each indicator, and presentation of results in tables and graphs. The findings indicate that community perceptions of mangrove forest conservation ranged from good to very good. The highest perception score was 89% (very good) for the ecological functions of mangrove forests, while the lowest was 67% (good) regarding the active role of the village government in forest conservation. Community participation was also generally classified as good to very good. The highest participation score was 87% (very good), reflected in opposition to activities that damage mangrove forests, followed by 86% (very good) support for village government regulations on mangrove protection. Meanwhile, the lowest participation scores were 64% (good) for general involvement and 67% (good) for participation in conservation outreach activities. Community perceptions and participation were influenced by knowledge of mangrove functions and benefits, environmental awareness, village government support, opportunities to participate in conservation activities, and a sense of responsibility for natural resource sustainability. Strengthening these factors is essential to improve community involvement and ensure sustainable mangrove forest conservation in Sayoang Village.
