Edukasi Pendidikan Politik Kepada Peserta Didik Di SMP Negeri 2 Kota Tidore Kepulauan

Currently, the Indonesian nation will be faced with the 2024 general election (Pemilu) both at the   national level by electing the president, vice president and representatives of the DPR RI, as well as at the regional level in electing the governor,   deputy governor, regent/mayor and DPRD. However, on the other hand, the potential for fraud in elections can occur in all areas, such as money or transactional political practices which can reduce the quality of the election itself. To minimize this, it is necessary to involve academics such as lecturers and students to provide political education   to   the   community, especially the younger generation such as students. Therefore, lecturers from the PPKn FKIP Study Program at Khairun University together with students held service activities at SMP Negeri 2 Tidore Islands City, North Maluku. This aims to foster students to have civic awareness in exercising their right to vote where a positive track record is the main consideration in selecting candidates. This activity uses lecture and discussion methods in the form of FGD (focus group discussion). The series of activities starts from location observation, coordination with school leaders, program implementation, and evaluation. The result of this activity is that students at SMP Negeri 2 Tidore Islands City will have political knowledge and awareness from an early age as a provision for making appropriate political decisions in the future. It is hoped that students will have good character within themselves which includes aspects of knowledge, attitudes and behavior so that in the future they will become good and educated members of society and future leaders of the nation.
