The purpose of this study is (1) to analyze how the pattern of shifting economic structure in Taliabu Island Regency for the 2016-2020 period and (2) to analyze how the impact of the economic structure shift on labor absorption in Taliabu Island Regency for the 2016-2020 period. The secondary data in this study were obtained from BPS North Maluku and BPS Data for Taliabu Island Regency. The data collection carried out in this study was by conducting research permits to related agencies, namely the central agency office (BPS) and related agencies in Taliabu Island Regency. The analytical technique used in this study uses Shift Share Analysis. It is an analysis that aims to determine the performance or work productivity of the regional economy by comparing it with a larger region (regional or national). Changes in Economic Structure in the Absorption of Labor in Taliabu Island Regency Based on the results of the Shift Share analysis, the GRDP of Taliabu Island Regency increased during the 2016-2020 period by Rp. 84,127.50 million. When viewed from the contribution to GRDP, it shows a change in the economic structure of the primary sector, namely agriculture as much as Rp. 38,246.00 million to the secondary sector, namely electricity and gas procurement of Rp. 2,807.50 million or the tertiary sector, namely company services, amounting to Rp. 29,774.17 million. The agricultural sector is quite capable of making a positive contribution to economic growth in Taliabu Island Regency, due to the development and development of related regulations as well as the high dynamics of changes in spatial use that have an impact on land acquisition in the years to come. Based on the proposed hypothesis, the results of research based on field facts can be accepted, so it can be concluded that the Economic Structure of Taliabu Island Regency experienced a shift towards the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors.
