Modernization is a historical phenomena that is rarely discussed. On the contrary it is actually important historically phenomenon. Modernization implies on changing in social pattern and behavior which enocourage to values changing. It was happened for modernization in Ternate Residency. Modernization changes various traditional social pattern and it had been foundation for modern Indonesia. Ternate’s early modernization consist of political and economy modernization. Colonial government’s centralization of politic and economic authority replace slowly traditional economically evolution to involve on global rapidly market. Colonial period in 1900-1942 is the begining for Indonesia’s changing.
