Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Saintifik@: Jurnal Pendidikan MIPA undergo an editorial screening and peer review process to ensure their relevance to the journal's scope, scientific quality, originality, and compliance with publication ethics. The journal applies a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other during the review process.

The manuscript evaluation process consists of the following stages:

  1. Submission and Initial Screening
Submitted manuscripts are initially evaluated by the editorial team to ensure administrative completeness, conformity with the journal's focus and scope, manuscript structure, journal template, writing quality, and compliance with the journal's guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors before peer review.

  2. Originality Check
Manuscripts may be screened using similarity detection software to ensure originality and prevent plagiarism. Authors may be requested to revise the manuscript when the level of similarity does not comply with the journal's policy.

  3. Editor Assignment
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to an editor whose expertise is relevant to the manuscript's subject area. The editor manages the review process and selects appropriate reviewers.

  4. Reviewer Assignment
Each manuscript is reviewed by reviewers with expertise relevant to the research topic. The review process follows a double-blind system, in which reviewers do not know the identity of the authors and authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.

  5. Peer Review
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, research objectives, methodological quality, accuracy of analysis, quality of results and discussion, validity of conclusions, appropriateness of references, and the contribution of the manuscript to the field of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education.

  6. Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers' comments and recommendations, the editor may issue one of the following decisions: Accept Submission, Revisions Required, Resubmit for Review, or Decline Submission. The final editorial decision considers both reviewer recommendations and the overall scientific quality of the manuscript.

  7. Author Revision
Authors are required to revise the manuscript according to the comments provided by reviewers and editors and to respond appropriately to each recommendation. A revised manuscript may be returned to reviewers when further evaluation is considered necessary.

  8. Final Decision
After the review and revision stages have been completed, the editor conducts a final evaluation. Manuscripts that meet the journal's scientific and editorial standards will be accepted for publication.

  9. Copyediting, Production, and Publication
Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, layout, proofreading, and production before publication in the assigned issue. Authors may be requested to review the final proof before publication.

Reviewers are generally given up to four weeks to complete their review after accepting the review assignment. The overall editorial process may vary depending on the number of revision rounds, reviewer availability, and the extent of revisions required.
