Pengaruh Umur Pejantan terhadap Kualitas Semen Kambing Kacang di UPT Ekor, Halmahera Timur

Abstract

Based on the lack of data on reproduction, especially quality semen of bean goat as a first step in the program do that artificial insemination (AI) in the Estern Halmahera district. So this research is counducted with the aim of knowling the quality and level macroscopic bean goat semen motility in the Binagara village Halmahera in terms of the level of age males this research from November 2014 until with Januari 2015. The method used is experiment, with goat treatment age: 1 years, 2 years, 3 years with 3 repetitions U1, U2, U3. The material used as sample much as 9 beangoats as in the range age of mentioned. The observed of parameters that the macroscopic qualities include: volume, color, consistency, odor and pH. To the level of motility is mass motility and individual motility. The data obtained of tabulation and analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) using the program Genstat 16.2. The results of research macroscopic show that the average volume fresh semen of bean goat the Binagara village is 1,0±0,0 ml, milk cream color, consistency of thick, distinctive odor, and pH 7,0±0,0b. Level of mass motility (+++) and percentage of individual motility 90±0,0b. Semen of radiated by the males every once ejaculated on bean goat everage 0,5 – 1 ml. And can vary based on the age of the males, race animals, large animals and weighed, and the frequency of the shelter. The conclusion of the research is the quality of the macroscopic and levels semen motility of bean goat in the Binagara village, Estern Halmahera district, still within the normal range so it is advisable to do artificial insemination (AI) program.
