Konsekuensi Berlanjutnya Illegal Fishing bagi Pelaku Keamanan Maritim dan Masyarakat Pesisir di Indonesia, dan Pemberantasan IUU Fishing
Abstract
Tindak kriminal dalam industri perikanan di Indonesia merupakan hal yang tidak dapat diabaikan. Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing telah diidentifikasi oleh Persatuan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB) sebagai salah satu ancaman global terhadap keamanan maritim. Indonesia sebagai salah satu negara maritim terbesar menghadapi konsekuensi dari penangkapan ikan ilegal dengan skala besar terhadap faktor ekonomi, pengaruh buruk untuk lingkungan laut, ancaman terhadap pihak keamanan maritim dan wilayah komunitas pantai yang terpengaruh oleh IUU fishing. Salah satu faktor yang mendorong IUU fishing adalah lemahnya pemerintah dan penegak hukum. Namun, banyak pihak termasuk pemerintah, yang menjalani peran penting dalam melawan IUU fishing. Artikel penelitian ini akan membahas konsekuensi dari penangkapan ikan ilegal terhadap pihak keamanan maritim dan penduduk atau komunitas pantai di wilayah perairan Indonesia, serta bagaimana usaha beberapa pihak dalam melawan IUU fishing di Indonesia.
