EDUKASI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER PEDULI LINGKUNGAN KEPADA PESERTA DIDIK DI MADRASAH TSANAWIYAH NEGERI KOTA TERNATE

Instilling environmental character values is an important aspect in efforts to form a generation that is responsible for preserving nature. This study aims to describe the strategy, implementation, and challenges in strengthening environmental character education for students at the State Junior High School of Ternate City. The method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation.

The results of the study indicate that strengthening environmental character is carried out through integration in subjects, extracurricular activities, and madrasah culture that supports environmentally friendly behavior. Activities such as the madrasah clean movement, waste sorting, and greening programs are effective means of forming attitudes and awareness of students. Although there are several obstacles such as limited facilities and lack of participation of some students, collaborative efforts between teachers, students, and the madrasah can have a positive impact on increasing environmental awareness. This study recommends the need for ongoing support from all stakeholders to strengthen the culture of environmental awareness in the educational environment.
