DAMPAK PEMBANGUNAN PESISIR TERHADAP EKONOMI DAN LINGKUNGAN

Abstrak: Pembangunan wilayah pesisir terus berkembang seiring dengan peningkatan jumlah penduduk, banyak daerah memilih pembangunan waterfront city dalam pengembangan sektor bisnis dan pariwisata, namun pengembangan wilayah pesisir dengan proyek reklamasi dapat menimbulkan berbagai masalah sosial dan lingkungan. Paper ini bertujuan menganalisis dampak pembangunan pesisir terhadap sosial-ekonomi dan lingkungan melalui kajian literatur dan studi lapangan. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa pembangunan wilayah pesisir dapat berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan sektor ekonomi dan citra kota namun menimbulkan dampak sosial dan lingkungan yang serius karena tidak dilaksanakan secara sustainable. Pengembangan waterfront di Ternate secara signifikan meningkatkan area bisnis dan pariwisata namun menimbulkan dampak sosial terhadap penggusuran pemukiman nelayan serta menimbulkan dampak penurunan kualitas sumber daya pesisir, beberapa hasil studi mengkonfirmasi telah terjadi pencemaran limbah rumah tangga dan sampah di sekitar pantai serta sumberdaya hayati mengalami penurunan dalam 10 tahun terakhir sebagai dampak reklamasi.
