ISOLASI BAKTERI PENDEGRADASI SENYAWA PIREN DARI PERAIRAN PELABUHAN PAOTERE

Abstract

Hidokarbon Aromatik Polisiklik (HAP) merupakan salah satu bahan polutan pada tanah, air dan udara. Senyawa ini memiliki potensi risiko terhadap kesehatan manusia, karena beberapa
senyawanya bersifat karsinogenik dan beracun untuk organisme laut. Piren merupakan salah satu senyawa HAP yang berbahaya dan sulit didegradasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan isolat bakteri yang berasal dari perairan pelabuhan Paotere yang mampu mendegradasi senyawa piren. Dari hasil isolasi dan karakterisasi biokimiawi sesuai Bergey’s
manual of determinative bacteriology diperoleh untuk ketiga isolat mempunyai ciri-ciri yang mengarah pada bakteri Alcaligenes untuk isolat A, Sphingobacterium untuk isolat B dan
Baccilus untuk isolat C.

Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (HAP) is one of the pollutants in the soil, water and air. These compounds have the potential risk to human health, because some compounds are carcinogenic and toxic to marine organisms. Pyrene is one of HAP compounds are dangerous and difficult to degrade. The aim of this study was to obtain bacterial isolates originating from harbor waters Paotere capable of degrading pyrene compound. From the results of isolation and characterization of biochemical according Bergey's manual of determinative bacteriology obtained for all three isolates has characteristics that lead to
bacterial isolates Alcaligenes for A, Sphingobacterium for B and Baccilus for isolate C.
