Strategi Pengembangan Ekowisata Di Pulau-pulau Kecil Kawasan KPHL Ternate-Tidore Maluku Utara

Abstract. The ecotourism development strategy is expected to increase the income of communities around forest areas and grow public awareness of the importance of forests as a source of sustainable livelihood.  This study aims to (1). Identifying Ecotourism Potential in Small Islands of KPHL Ternate-Tidore Area (2). Formulate an Ecotourism Development Strategy for the Ternate-Tidore KPHL Area.  This research was carried out in November-December 2022 with a descriptive method, through field observations, interviews with key informants and desk studies related to the identification of ecotourism potential and then SWOT analysis to formulate a strategic plan for ecotourism management. The results showed that ecotourism potential is mangrove tourism and waterfalls that have the potential to be natural tourist attractions (ODTWA) as many as 4 (four) location distribution points, namely; 1) Gamalama mountain tourism on Terate Island, 2) Kie Matubu mountain tourism on tidore island, 3) Luku piggy bank waterfall in Kalaodi Village, 4) Mangrove forest tourism on Mare Island, Maitara and Moti Island, 5) Lake Tolire Tourism in Takome Village and 6) Forest tourism in gamalama Forest Group. The results of the IFE and EFE matrices on the internal and external matrices consisting of 9 quadrants show the position of the environmental services and ecotourism strategy in the management of the Ternate-Tidore KPHL area in the coordinates in quadrant I which means that the respondents gave an assessment that the current conditions are good, so that to achieve the objectives a strategy is needed in the position of growth and build.
