Analysis of Limited Face-to-Face Learning at SMA Negeri 1 Bonehau

Abstract

Limited Face-to-Face Learning is a classroom-based learning process conducted under certain restrictions. The purpose of this study is to examine the implementation, teaching strategies employed by educators, challenges, impacts, and evaluation of limited face-to-face learning at SMA Negeri 1 Bonehau. This research adopts a qualitative approach. The research subjects consist of the vice principal for curriculum affairs, teachers, and students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s analysis model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the implementation of limited face-to-face learning at SMA Negeri 1 Bonehau is in accordance with the guidelines for conducting face-to-face learning during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Teachers prepare lesson summaries to be delivered to students. The main obstacles encountered are related to facilities, infrastructure, and human resources. The positive impacts of limited face-to-face learning include improved discipline in adhering to health protocols, direct interaction during learning, the elimination of the need for teachers to visit students’ homes, and increased creativity and innovation among teachers. On the other hand, the negative impacts include less effective learning, reduced social interaction, students feeling burdened by excessive assignments, decreased learning interest due to health protocols, and a decline in students’ learning outcomes. Evaluation of limited face-to-face learning is carried out in line with the guidelines for face-to-face learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
