Coral reef ecosystems have important ecological functions, but are vulnerable to fishing pressure. This study aims to analyze the condition of coral reef cover, fishing activity, and the relationship between the two in the waters of Kano Island, Taliabu Island Regency. Coral reef data were collected using the Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) method at four stations and analyzed using CPCe software. Fishing activity data were obtained through interviews with 24 fishermen and analyzed using the weighted score method. The relationship between the two variables was analyzed using Pearson correlation. The results showed that the highest live coral cover was found at Station IV at 70.87% and the lowest at Station III at 20.27%. Based on quality standard criteria, three stations were classified as good and one station was classified as damaged. Fishing activity was dominated by traditional fishing gear with varying levels of activity between stations. Correlation analysis showed a negative relationship between fishing activity and live coral cover (r = -0.64), but was not statistically significant (p > 0.05). These results indicate that increased fishing activity tends to be followed by a decline in coral reef conditions at the study site.
