PARTISIPASI MASYARAKAT DALAM PENGELOLAAN HUTAN MANGROVE BERBASIS EKOWISATA DI KELURAHAN MAFUTUTU KOTA TIDORE KEPULAUAN

Abstrak

This study examines community participation in ecotourism-based mangrove forest management in Mafututu Village, East Tidore District, Tidore Islands City. The study seeks to answer how local communities participate in managing mangrove areas that have begun to be utilized as ecotourism destinations. The investigation focuses on community involvement in the stages of planning, organizing, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of mangrove management. Data sources were drawn from community members involved in the management of the mangrove area; however, the available research document does not provide complete information regarding the research design, number of participants, sampling technique, instruments, and analytical procedures; therefore, these details are not assumed in this abstract. The findings indicate that community members participate in discussions and exchanges of ideas, selection of planting locations, planning of supporting facilities, cooperation in management, implementation of activities, as well as monitoring and evaluation. Management of the area has not yet been optimal due to limited and damaged supporting facilities, while time constraints and dependency were identified as factors hindering community participation. These findings emphasize that community participation is a continuous process encompassing all stages of management. Strengthening community involvement and maintaining supporting facilities are therefore necessary to promote more effective and sustainable mangrove ecotourism management.
