Abstrak

Zero waste transitions require understanding how students’ knowledge and attitudes relate to waste-management practices. This study assessed these constructs among Universitas Khairun students and examined their associations with reported behavior. A cross-sectional questionnaire survey included 100 students who completed a Google Forms questionnaire during July–August 2026. Thirty statements measured perceived knowledge, attitudes, and behavior using a five-point agreement scale. Analyses included descriptive statistics, internal consistency, correlations, and multiple regression with diagnostic and sensitivity checks. Mean item scores were 3.57 for knowledge, 3.54 for attitudes, and 3.07 for behavior. Cronbach’s alpha coefficients were .917, .898, and .938, respectively. The overall model was significant, F(2,97)=12.286, p<.001, explaining 20.21% of behavioral variation. Attitudes were positively associated with behavior (B=0.572, 95% CI [0.240, 0.904], p<.001), whereas knowledge was not independently significant (B=0.125, 95% CI [−0.190, 0.439], p=.433). Sensitivity analyses preserved this inferential pattern. The findings support testing programs that connect supportive attitudes with practical waste-reduction opportunities, while the cross-sectional design precludes causal conclusions. Demographic characteristics were unavailable in the analyzed dataset, limiting assessment of sample composition.
